Sunday 5/30: FREEPHONE PROJECT @ LUI VELAZQUEZ
in conjunction with Satellite Ensemble Opening

*The Freefone Project <http://luivelazquez.com>* - Why is payphone part
of our vocabulary buf freephone isn't? The Freefone project is an effort
to provide a free phone just a few feet from where people who are
deported from the US are released. This will be accomplished by wiring a
used payphone up to an Analog Terminal Adapter in order to provide cheap
Voice Over IP access. The phone will be located at the Lui Velazquez
gallery in Tijuana. The phone will be presented as part of the Altbit
free/libre/open source art show and is part of the Society of Molecules
distributed event coordinated by the Sense Lab at Concordia University
in Montreal, Canada. The project is a collaboration between Micha
Cardenas, Elle Mehrmand, Chris Head, Katherine Sweetman and Camilo
Ontiveros.
